 "the day I died"

I was five years old when it happened.

That day, the wind was violently blowing around my grand-parents house. It was a big castle that locals said to be haunted. It didn't scare me at the time.

Suddenly, a window started banging. I couldn't read with all the noise it made. So I got out of bed to lock the window. In the fog, silently covering the stone ground, I was a door that wasn't there before. Out of the light, a voice told me to leave the window open … At first, I was terrified. But as I walked towards the window, I realised how beautiful the voice was. I started running to the closed window, as if I felt like I had to open it as quickly as possible. When I turned around, the door had disappeared. I was affraid that I would never hear the voice again. I searched for what seemed to be hours. Downstairs, I found the tunnel leading to the sea. The light was in there …

As I entered the tunnel, I heard a loud noise behind me. The passage was closed. I saw a big wave coming at me. 

The voice said one last word : « Trapped ».
