EXPOSÉ :
Muslim Lassana Bathily risked his own life while helping save others, as he protected Jews in the face of an armed terrorist.
The terrorist, named Coulibaly, had taken several people hostage but not the 15 whom Bathily led downstairs into a walk-in freezer. Bathily, who describes himself as a “practicing Muslim”, told BMFTV he switched off the freezer, turned off the lights and told everyone to stay calm.
Just North of Paris, the suspects from the Charlie Hebdo attack cornered in a printing plant. But what they did not know was that Lilian Lepère, a graphic designer, was hidden inside a box, texting police about the gunmen mouvements. In the end, Lilian and a hostage survived.
Earlier another man at the printing plant also survived to the hostage taking of the Kouachi brothers.
Bathily’s action has saved lives although four people, plus the gunman, ended up being killed by the time the hostage situation ended.
As a reward, the government helped out Bathily by making him a French citizen.
